Us travelers always have a great destination in mind. But sometimes, it’s good to know when to go where. So many destinations, so little time. So I decided to take the calendar and the most amazing destinations to visit, and work out when to go where. Are you ready to start booking some trips? Let’s go!
Since this blog post is going live in April, we might as well start with April. Where to travel in April? April is such a great month to go and visit the gorgeous Greece. Why? Well, because the summers in Greece are incredibly hot and really crowded. In April the weather starts becoming great! Even in Amsterdam. We have been getting so much beautiful and sunny days that I’m starting to distrust it, hahaha. All jokes aside. Book a trip to Greece. Ios is an island that’s pretty high on my list. Can’t wait to visit!
Oh yes, the amazing Italy. I’ve been to quite some places in Italy, but so much more I want to visit. Rome is one of the most amazing cities I’ve ever been to and I can’t wait to go back there again. And also Sicily is a gorgeous place. I’ve been to the east part of the island and went from Syracusa to Taormina. It was truly amazing! Even though I went in the summer, btw. You should definitely go to Italy in May. It’s the best time you can go. Not so many tourists and the weather is just as you would want it to be. Sunny, but not so hot that you can’t move without breaking a sweat. Yes, I’ve been there. Trust me on this one! Looking for May? Go to Italy!
Ahh the beautiful France. To be honest with you, I haven’t been to any other destination in France besides Paris and I still have to visit so many beautiful places. Such as Nice, Cannes and Marseille. And please don’t forget about a tour through Champagne? Omg! That’s heaven for me. Should definitely start planning trips there. I did have a trip scheduled to Colmar in 2023, but unfortunately had to cancel it. But there’s one destination I can tell you A LOT about, which is Paris. I have been there for about 20 times before I decided to move there in 2023. And that was the best year of my life. So I also know that June is the best month to visit. The weather is becoming so good, but not a lot of tourists yet. So the best time to visit Paris.
Yes, Austria is great for skiing and other fun winter things, but have you ever seen Austria in the summer? Because I mean, it can be gorgeous! You should not skip Vienna, because OMG. You have no idea how beautiful this city is, the history it has and how beautiful it can be. Please promise me that you’ll visit. I actually have Vienna on my list again for this year.
How could I not put my own country on this list? It was a pretty tricky one on where to put it. Because in March and April you have the gorgeous tulip fields in bloom, but the weather can’t be trusted around that period of time. It actually can’t ever be trusted in The Netherlands, but August is pretty much your best chance of sunshine instead of rain.
Amsterdam is a beautiful city and definitely a lot to explore in terms of culture, but it’s not that much fun in the rain. Which is my opinion btw. I don’t like rain. But spending time in the summer when the weather is really good and get on a boat through the canals. There’s not much like it. I love it! Which is also why I decided to spend my summer in Amsterdam on a houseboat btw, haha!
If I have to tell you about one of the best travel decisions I’ve ever made, it’s going to Ibiza when summer rush hour is over. I actually went a little later and departed on October 3rd, but I had to set a different destination for October. So are you looking for a destination in September? Choose Spain! Better yet, choose Ibiza! The tourists and party people are gone and the only thing left is the beauty that Ibiza has to offer and still some pretty good weather. When I went there early October, it was between 22-27 degrees still. Start booking! If you’re going to book Ibiza though, you should definitely choose this hotel. You’e welcome!
Hear me out! Going to Los Angeles in October truly has a shared first place with Ibiza on my list “Best Travel Decisions I’ve Ever Made”. Because omg, we had such amazing weather there of like 26-30 degrees while it was around 15 degrees back home. And some other super amazing thing of this time.. Halloween! I don’t know about you, but I’m such a Disney girlie. So we went to the Halloween party in Disneyland and it was amazing.
I’ve been to LA twice. Once in October and once in April/May and October definitely was the best time to go there. Stay tuned for blog posts on the LA Itinerary and some great luxury hotels I’ve been to in LA, to make sure that you make all the right decisions when going there.
Omg you guys. I need to visit Jordan. And the best time to do that is November. I’m thinking I have to go there this November, how about you? I have to visit Petra. Which sounds kind of weird, because my mom’s name is also Petra, haha. But omg, have you seen pictures of that? I need to see and experience that with my own eyes. Have to!
Did someone say Christmas Town in December? In my opinion, this is the most logical one. In December you need to visit Lapland. I mean, Christmas Town? Hello? Staying in a see-through eskimo hut. With Santa Claus and reindeers around the corner? Shut up and take my money!
Wait, what? January in Iceland? Yes, I know. It’s super cold. But hear me out. I feel like that if you’re going to visit a country like that, you have to see it at its best. I’m also a firm believer of eating Italian food in Italy and French food in France and you shouldn’t really go eat Italian food when you’re visiting Spain for example. Just because you have the possibility to eat the original thing. Why would you choose anything else? But anyway, we’re not talking about food right now, haha.
January is also the best month to see the Northern Lights. And I believe that’s a dream of pretty much all of us, right? I still need to visit Iceland though. Perhaps January 2026?
Are you someone who likes to go skiing? Me as well! I actually haven’t been skiing for a while, now that I mention it. And when I was going skiing, I always went to Austria. But Switzerland should be the most beautiful place to spend your ski vacation from what I heard and saw. I don’t know about you, but my next ski vacation would definitely be to Switzerland. There’s still a lot of snow on the mountains and it’s not as crowded as it is in January. Who’s with me?
I feel like I’m having lots of places that are still pretty high up my list and I never went too before, haha. Japan is definitely way up there. And March is the best time to visit! March is the start of Spring and guess what’s happening? The cherry blossoms are beginning to bloom! And yes you should go to Tokio. But that’s not where I’m starting this trip. I’m beginning in Kyoto. It looks like a fairytale. I think I should just decide right now that I’m planning a trip to Japan for March 2026. Yeeeessssss!!
There are so many more beautiful places on this earth. So many more to visit. But this is a pretty great list to begin with! So I know I only have to ask you one question: which trips are you planning this year? Check Skyscanner and love your amazing life!
